Spire Harpenden Hospital

From Harpenden town centre

Follow the A1081 signposted Luton. You will pass a BP garage on your left. Just after the large brick railway bridge turn right into Hillside Road (signed ‘private hospital’). At the top of Hillside Road, turn left and the hospital is on the right hand side.

From M1 junction 10
Follow the A1081 signed Harpenden/St Albans. After approximately two miles, turn left into Hillside Road (immediately before the second set of traffic lights and the brick railway bridge). At the top of Hillside Road, turn left into Ambrose Lane and the hospital is on the right hand side.

From A1 junction 4 (Tesco roundabout) at Hatfield
Follow the A6129 to Wheathampstead. At the Stanborough roundabout turn left under the A1 and at the next roundabout take the third exit onto the B653 towards Wheathampstead and Harpenden.

You will pass Brocket Hall on your right hand side. Follow the road for a further mile and at the roundabout take the second exit on to Cory Wright Way, signposted to Luton. Continue straight over at the next roundabout. After approximately two miles you will pass a Tesco garage on the left followed by a roundabout, turn left into Station Road. Take the next right into Coldharbour Lane, travel a short distance and then turn left into Ox Lane. Continue straight up the hill until you reach a mini roundabout. Turn left and then immediately right into Hollybush Lane. Travel over the railway bridge and shortly afterwards you will see Ambrose Lane on your right. Turn right and follow the road for around a quarter of a mile until you see Spire Harpenden Hospital on the right.

By train

If you're travelling by train, Harpenden station is five minutes away from Spire Harpenden via car/taxi.

There is a 25 minute direct train from London St Pancras, which runs regularly throughout the day.

Leaving the M1 at Junction 8, we are a 5 minute drive

From the M25
Leave the M25 at Junction 21 for the M1 and travel northbound to Junction 8. We are a 10 minute drive from the M25.

From Hemel Hempstead Station
There are usually taxis available outside the station, or you can pre-book Choice Taxis on 01442 246000. Alternatively, there is a bus service to the Maylands Business Park and Boundary Way, look for the number ML1.?

Luton and Dunstable University Hospital is located next to the M1 Motorway (Junction 11) between Luton and Dunstable.

The main entrance to the hospital is on Lewsey Road, which is accessible from Dunstable Road.

Pinehill Hospital

Benslow Lane, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, SG4 9QZ

The nearest station is Hitchin and is approximately 5-10 minutes’ walk from the hospital. Turn right out of the station along Station Approach. Just before the main road turn left up Burton's Path which brings you to Benslow Rise. Walk along Benslow Rise until you reach Benslow Lane and then continue up the hill to Pinehill Hospital.

Blakelands Hospital

From M1, Junction 14. Estimated time by car 15 minutes. 3.5 miles. At Junction 14 roundabout, turn left on to A509 London Road. Straight over at the next roundabout. At the next roundabout, turn left on to A422 Monks Way. Continue along Monks Way. Straight over 2 roundabouts. Turn right at the next roundabout into Brickhill Street, Straight over the next roundabout. Turn right at the next roundabout into Wedgwood Avenue. Blakelands Treatment Centre is on the left, Smeaton Close.

From the A1(M) northbound

Take J3 towards Hatfield A1001 and St Albans A414.

At the roundabout, take the second exit towards Hatfield onto the A1001 (Comet Way). The exit is also sign posted as ‘The Galleria, Fielder Centre and Hatfield Business Park’.

At the next roundabout, take the second exit towards Hertford / Welwyn Gdn City staying on the A1001 (Comet Way).

At the next roundabout (with Premier Inn / Brewers Fayre on your right hand side), take the first left and follow the road into Hatfield Business Park.

At the next roundabout, take a right towards Porsche and One Hatfield Hospital is opposite the entrance.


From the A1(M) southbound

Take J4 towards Hatfield A1001 and Hertford A414.

At the roundabout, take the third exit keeping Tesco on your left, onto the A1001 (Comet Way).

At the next roundabout, take the fourth exit and follow the road into Hatfield Business Park.

At the next roundabout, take a right towards Porsche and One Hatfield Hospital is opposite the entrance.
